What a classic!!
It was a war between IT and PE... I chose PEs LOL
I had a 175, 250 and 400!!!!
Damn, I loved them PEs.... I was about 15 when I got my first bike... Suzuki TS185, it was my dirt bike, lol... I gave it hell, yet it was very very reliable... I learn all the "how too's" on the TS and PEs... I swapped the TS later for a PE175... DAMN, "look at that suspension" FULL FLOATER!!! I still LOVE that name...
Then I sold the 175 and bought a 250.... It was mean, I mean really mean, the first 250 "high" performance bike I have ever ridden, When I twist the throttle I couldn't reach the clutch to change gears... There was a huge jump from 175-250... I like the bike so much that at the age of 17 I rewired it completely from a PE250 owners/workshop manual which I still have... Registered the bike and made it a on/off road, I even sprocket it with a 44 rear from a 50, she was REALLY fast on the open road... Nice town bike, The police loved me!!!
Ok so someone really wanted this bike, and offered me a real good price, so I sold it... 2 years later I saw a PE400, looks just like the 250, also twin shock, Bought it in spares, it was really in a GOOD condition, the plastics and stuff, ordered a piston and rebuild it, it wasn't much faster then the 250, but had lots of low grunt... I sold it to the same guy who bought the 250... LOL
I really wish I did not sold the 250... Its a classic and I loved it!! Then I bought a CR500 (to be continued in the Honda forum)
