Big Grin True, but very difficult where we ride......I need a runway strip..........
So after a long skype chat and lecture from B last night.........Angel Cool

With the help of eBay, I purchased jets, needles and even a slide......LoL Gavs we have got some work to do, hopefully these parts arrive soon

Cheers

Good day all

Here is just an update on some changes done to the CR500, all thanks to the assistance and effort by Gavin

We have changed the following:

- New after market exhaust manifold/flange (double o-ring)
- Changed from FMF to Pro circuit expansion chamber and silencer
- Changed the Rad Valve for a V-Force 3 reed cage/valve
- K&N Air filter
- Jetting (MJ = 172; PJ = 52; Needle DGH Middle clip; AS 2 Turns out)*
- Slide #6

*= Gavin to confirm??

The bike seems to feel smooth up to 1/2 throttle thereafter, it splutters, note we had limited time testing it. I was riding the RM most of the time and lots of braaing and beer time

Cheers

JK
all confirmed 573VO, I will take the main jet down to 170, then i think we must do a plug chop to see where we are.
Brian went riding today so maybe we go sometime and hes can mess around with Grant while we do plug chop. just need to find a landing strip.....

Thanks Gavs,

I had brief discussion with B, he proposed that we go down two or three jets. Maybe we should try 168 main jet instead

Plug chopping.....eish....I don't know a "legal" spot to give it gas....Angel

Come weekend.....Cool

Cheers

Heard you down this weekend, so will get it ready, but not sure what bike you riding with..

Gav
So just an update

The CR is running strong and the power is awesome.....thanks to Gavs setting it up and B's advice Cool

The Carb jetting/settings is as follows:

Main jet = 165
Pilot jet = 48
Needle = DGH on the 3rd clip

We intially had problems to hot start her, there was no spark, we changed the spark plug and fiddled with the wiring, while doing this something happened we got SPARK!!!

Thereafter no problems starting......LEKKER!! Big Grin

We did about a 2hr ride +/- 70-75km....some very slow stuff in places and lots of stof

The next phase/step is to install the complete CR250 ignition (flywheel, stator, CDI and coil) and see how she performs and handles then. I would think the handeling characteristics will change

Cheers
