Ok i took 2 photo's of my axle with a oil bottle next2 it. I then turnd the axle til the gap between the bottle and axle got to its bigest and smallest. The diferents is about 1mm and the same on both sides. Is that ok or is it busted? Ok im asking this because i get a wobble at high speeds. And whats funy is i neva did any huge jumps. . I jumpd and landed skew once but it wasnt a big jump. What i also noticed my back wheels are wearing on the inside only? Thanx 4 any helpOk i took 2 photo's of my axle with a oil bottle next2 it. Heres the pics
Replace your bearings and see if its still the same, if its the same, you have a shot axle, wich I think you have..
The 1mm is going to produce some mild vibrations.
When you say wobble, is the quad all over the road? If so, your front alignment is out. As per one of your previous posts, I could see that your alignment was set far too much in.
For setting the rear axle, you have marks on your u-bolts on both sides. Set according to those. Then measure to your lower front a-arm and back to your axle. Make sure you measure the same place on the remaining side. After this is done, tighten the carrier bolts. Now for the front.
Turn your handles as if you were gauging on your handles what is straight (Do not look at the wheels while doing this, as you will not get your handles straight that way. Take 2 lashing belts and lash your handles to your foot pegs (this is so that the handles does not turn when you set the alignment) Now take a 2m straight-edge (U need 1 more person for this) and press it against your rear wheel (Touching both sides of the wheel). You will now be able to set your alignment on that front wheel. I usually set at 5mm in on front on each wheel. Now do the other side.
You’re done
Thanx guys. . , .i think im gana sell my bike. . . .i thought these's things are tough. . . .and now the "apparantly good" dura blue axle goes and bends with a gay little sissy jump? What the hell. . Im pistoff now. . . Real dissapointed in the whole quad thing. . . . .how much does a new axle cost?
Im not sure i understand what u mean by using the straight edge against the back wheels?
I have a G-Force and I have abused it and I am heavy, with no issues..
Oh ok so what they cost? I hav no idea? Im feel depressed now. . .im at ovals and there's 1 banshee here
I was also wondering. . . .i got 6ply rating 23's on. If i put 21's on that are lighter would it help with the viabration abit?
Straight-edge against 1 back wheel (depending on which side you want to do first). Start of the straight-edge to touch the wall of the wheel (Back of quad). Now with that end secure, press the straight-edge against the other side of the wall (same wheel).
BTW, I have a durablue axle. Now I know there was a bad batch, but I abuse mine like you can't believe, with not even 1 problem.
Ok sory but i hav no idea what a straight edge is? Im lost? Sory ive neva done this b4. . Whats ur guys take on bending the axle strait with hydraulic jacks? Any knowledge? Good or bad? Any tips
Straightedge is a long and absolute straight piece of metal/aluminium/wood. For lining purposes.
Why do you think it is bent? Let me tell you something. Have you ever thought about the balancing on the tires like with a car? At top speed, it will give you problems. What you showed us in the pic, I see that as not bent. What I saw on your previous posts is that your front-end alignment is out. Also that your carrier bearings need replacing.
Do the basics first. I can guarantee you that it is one of the above problems rather than a bent axle.
Ok kewl thanx man i think im gana do that. Thanx 4 all the help
