This is very exciting! If I was in your shoes i'd look at a yz 250 or like Gav said the IT. I would love to see that CR run now!!

The KTM 380 vs 300, I will go for the 300, the 2007 model or later, awesome bike.... just as much power as the 380..... But KTM is expensive, and the parts as well....

RM250 vs YZ, if you can get one of the last RMs, That will be my choice... I think the RMs are real nice.... Not a specific reason, I like the Yamies, but the Suzooks is real nice as well, except if bying a new YZ LOL....
I would not bother with those old 4 strokes.... Parts from Honda is already becoming a issue......

So my first choice... RM250 2nd YZ250....

There is a 2008 KTM300M-XC for R48K - Just been redone........
I have also come across 2008?? RM250 2T for R37K

Sounds like your heart is on that KTM already, but......

I have a real softspot for a XR650. Not a 2T, but an awesome bike. It is in your voting options, right? It is a very nice tourer, can be modified to the max (lots of aftermarket stuff available) and is extremely capable in the technical stuff. Also, it is roadworthyable, so you can ride to where you want to play, instead of trailering.

When I am done with my CR, I am gonna search for a EggZaar!!!
