7 and 10mm Aluminum plated jugs
Hello guys....
I have been busy and do not really have the time do work or even ride.... I had to hire a xtra person in for the las 8 months just to help me with work on the farm.... Anyways, I have come up with a whole new idea, maybe its not to make money, but waste my own time some will say, BUT ooo this is my passion..... I was thinking on decking a cub and shift the powerband a little, as I don't want a norrow band motor for what I do and I agree that most people won't even buy these for ovals enduros etc.... I know of a guy that got rid of his due to the fact that its way to peaky... Yes setup setup setup... BUT let me get to the point..... Why would I buy a cub for $850 and do some decking which will also cost me about R600 more on it.... I mentioned that I want to build a 7mm RZ, the problem is with stock jugs the transfers end to high, deckheight is to low etc.... So I came up with resleeving with new cast iron cylinders.... Problem with cast iron is that it really struggles to get rid of heat, and when you want to make good power, heat is good, but to much heat, bang...... SO I let go of the idea again, untill 3 days ago.... Yesterday I lined up a cylinder during lunch time and cut it flat on its deck, and did a few measurements.... I made qute a few phone calls, and whala.......... NEW idea..... I will be setting up 7mm and 10mm (for now the prototype will be 7mm) for broad power, with FULL ALUMINUM nikasel PLATED cylinders... These cylinder is NOT to take on cubs, but will be more durable then cast iron and will be able to run stock head and locally sold domes no use for stroker domes anymore etc and are for the guy that want to make tons more power in a wide curve..... 7mm, you will have the ideal port timings and it can be set up for anything else.... For me to "manufacture" these is around R5000... Poritng these days is around R3500 - R5000.... Now I will be selling the last cranks for these when the prototypes is a sucess... No think about it this way.... Cylinder around R5000 - R6000 Crank about R3500, then you only need pistons..... 7mm TDR claims about 110hp, now that is for drags with cast iron cylinders... I won't make ANY claims.... I also mentioned that a DYNO JET dyno is new in my region and I know the guy's history that operates it.... SO we might take it there in the LTR..... I know I promised pipes, but there are so much good pipes out there, BUT I will have to build a set for the LTR..... So what I am saying is that there might be a new 7mm out of the box cylinder, full aluminum and plated for the guys that wants to go more extreme, for not to much more then porting and much less money then a cub and on paper it looks to be much more usable power..... I don't say more top end power size vs size..... It is aimed at the non drag rider............. I will keep this post updated..... Anybody with a set of Banshee jugs that are bored to its maxed and that you don't want to use??? I will buy them... I will buy a set of e-bay if I can't find a BAnshee one here.... RZ I have............ SO yes..... I am like a child and so excited...... Lets pray the outcome will be as I want it to be... There are a few obstacles to come over, but I am sure it can be done.... I will do everything except the line bore and nickasel..... And I have to send some cutting on Aluminum spacer..... I don't want to reveal everything right know.... I might sell them on e-bay... :-) People build 4mm trial bikes and play bikes because its actually worth porting for 4mm, but you don't see 7mm trial bikes out there.... There is a good reason, except expensive cranks........ I promise it will be neat work... The upside is that you will be able to run commercial pipes on these, because of the port timings..... Deciding on the bore size, a few good arguments there....... It is a fact, that I like to be different, this is what drives my passion................. BVH Racing Developments 082 821 45 15
